Thank you for your interest in applying to be a LiNKUP Leader for our RiSE LiNKUPs. The RiSE project is run by the London City Mission (LCM). To learn more about LCM and our work, visit our website at www.lcm.org.uk.
Being a LiNKUP Leader is a unique, special challenge, but an equally rewarding and fun experience!
The role can involve a variety of things:
Leading/assisting a small group of young people pastorally and with bible studies
Giving Bible-based talks in the morning and evening sessions
Leading/assisting/participating with the sports and activities programme
Helping in the kitchen
Helping to maintain the building(s) and site
Most leaders will do some of the above, not many will do all of them though! It will depend on your particular skills/gifts and experience.
The running of our LiNKUPs is very much a team effort. Each LiNKUP has designated leaders responsible for:
Safeguarding
Health and Safety
Pastoral Care
Spiritual Programme
Sports and Activities Programme
As a LiNKUP leader, you will be assigned to one of the above areas of responsibility.
There is a Leaders Retreat in July. This is a time for the leaders to get together for some praying, planning, training, and eating! All LiNKUP leaders are expected to attend.
All meals, transport, and accommodation are provided while on LiNKUP. However, we do welcome any donations to help ensure we can keep the cost of the LiNKUPs as low as possible for the young people who attend.
As part of the application process, we require you to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide two references. One of these will be from the leader of the church you attend and the other will be a personal reference from a friend (not a family member).
We look forward to receiving your application.
For His Glory
